Save the date! Sea Tech Week® 2022: Maritime transport in the spotlight

Campus mondial de la mer is delighted to announce the 13th Sea Tech Week® which will take place from 26 to 30 September in Brest, France. This international event is held every two years and attracts over a thousand participants from around the world, including researchers, engineers, partners and students.

The main theme of Sea Tech Week® this year is ‘Maritime transport: towards smarter and greener solutions’. The wealth of topics to be covered at the event notably include wind propulsion, maritime cybersecurity, hydrogen, naval architecture and design, marine pollution and new maritime routes.

This year’s featured country is India, a country with which the Campus mondial de la mer community already enjoy good relations. There will also be a focus on women in marine science and technology and on training for roles in the maritime sector.

Imagining the maritime transport of tomorrow

Describing the event, Michel Gourtay, Vice-President Economy at Brest métropole and President of the Technopôle Brest-Iroise, said: “The Campus mondial de la mer community is at the forefront of marine science and technology in France. Sea Tech Week® is a flagship event, bringing together all our business, scientific and institutional stakeholders to focus on the latest innovations in the maritime sector. The event is also a fixture on the international calendar, with over 30% of participants coming from abroad. I warmly invite you to join us in Brest from 26 to 30 September 2022 to help us shape the maritime transport of tomorrow.”

Supporting marine science and technology for over 20 years

Sea Tech Week® has been forging links and strengthening international cooperation, research and business in the marine science and technology sector for over 20 years.

The event comprises plenaries, science and technology sessions, a trade fair, an exhibition space, B2B meetings, networking events and visits to companies and laboratories.

Sea Tech Week® provides scientists, entrepreneurs, clusters and students with opportunities to share the latest advances in research and innovation, make new contacts and further develop partnerships and cooperation, with a particular focus on the international perspective.

With Brest about to host the world’s first One Ocean Summit in a few days’ time, Sea Tech Week® 2022 is our opportunity to respond to the challenges of smart and sustainable development in a major sector of the global economy: maritime transport.

Sea Tech Week® is organised by Technopôle Brest-Iroise through Campus mondial de la mer, France’s foremost community of experts in the study and economic development of the ocean, located on the westernmost tip of Brittany. This event is supported by Brest métropole, Brittany Region and the European Union (ERDF).
